What Volunteers Do
As a volunteer with Animal Army, you will play a hands-on role in supporting the animals in our care. Volunteer activities may include:
- Walking, socializing, and caring for dogs and cats — while also capturing photos and videos that help us share their stories across social media and maintain a strong, high-visibility online presence
- Assisting with enrichment and rehabilitation activities
- Helping with daily kennel routines, feeding, and comfort care
- Supporting staff with non-clinical tasks around the facility
- Participating in community outreach and awareness efforts
Volunteers help our animals build confidence, recover from trauma, and prepare for adoption — while also helping us raise awareness, increase support, and connect animals with future homes.
Volunteer Housing & Facilities
We provide comfortable on-site volunteer housing, with two dedicated houses accommodating up to eight volunteers at a time. This allows volunteers to stay close to the clinic, fully participate in daily activities, and build a supportive community with fellow animal lovers.
A daily contribution fee of $5. EU per day helps support utilities, accommodation upkeep, and the ongoing care of the animals.
Who Can Volunteer
We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds — from experienced animal carers to those new to hands-on welfare work. What matters most is a passion for animals, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude.
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Minimum commitment: 2 weeks
- Longer-term commitments are strongly preferred
Experience with photography, videography, or social media is especially valuable, but not required.
We provide orientation and on-site guidance so every volunteer feels confident and supported.

How long do I need to commit?
The minimum stay is two weeks. Longer-term commitments are highly encouraged, as they provide greater consistency for the animals and the team.
What is a typical schedule?
Most volunteers assist for several hours per day, typically in morning and/or afternoon shifts. Schedules may vary depending on clinic needs.
Do I need prior experience?
No prior animal experience is required. A positive attitude, patience, and willingness to follow safety guidance are most important.
What costs are involved?
Volunteers are responsible for travel and personal expenses. A daily accommodation contribution of $5.00 is required.
Are there age requirements?
Yes. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
Do you assist with visas?
Volunteers are responsible for arranging their own visas. We can offer general guidance if needed.
